A month full of family, community, life science and creative activities!
All classes are busy creating special Mother's Day surprises. We will be using measuring and counting skills while we bake for Moms.
As the weather warms up we'll explore flowers, bugs, caterpillars, butterflies and life cycles.
The Fours will prepare for their beach visit with a hands-on workshop conducted by the Mass Audubon Society and the Threes will explore life on the farm during their visit to Weir River Farm.
Fertile eggs from UConn via Plymouth County 4H went into our incubator on Tuesday, April 24. Hatching time is about 3 weeks and we will be looking for homes for our chicks by Memorial Day. Please let us know if you would like to raise some chickens! Debby has all the info you will need.
Unfortunately, we are not able to reschedule our Little Red Hen story time due to instructor illness.
Our caterpillars arrived last week and will hatch into beautiful painted lady butterflies. We'll release them in the Memorial Garden.
We will end the year enjoying favorite activities and the new areas in our Outdoor Classroom.
The calendar may say spring but it can still be chilly and muddy on the playground! We LOVE mud and the exciting explorations that come with it. A warm coat and BOOTS are a must and hats/mittens may still be needed. When it gets warmer, please make sure your child is wearing socks and sneakers. Slides, thong sandals and flip-flops are very dangerous when climbing or running. Socks will keep the sand from irritating your child's feet. Sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before your child comes to school on hot, sunny days.
